Zornitsa Marinova and Nicco Tyson play music that is filled with joy, life and love.
Zori has studied Classical music in her youth but found her life's inspiration in Afro-Cuban and Brazilian drumming as an adult. She brings decades of study and performance experience to the stage.
Nicco began his musical journey inspired by punk rock as a teenager, but soon fell in love with the Blues. He started cutting his teeth and blues jams on the Oregon coast where he grew up. This thread of inspiration led him to West African music, where he spent a year studying with master traditional musicians in Mali. He has also studied Classical guitar and Afro-Brazilian traditions in Rio de Janeiro. Although he now teaches guitar and harmonica, he considers himself always a student of music and still studies with master West African musicians here in the Bay Area, such as Karamo Susso. Nicco also teaches Guitar, Harmonica and Ukulele in the Bay Area.
